I designed these shopping bags as a final piece for my thesis in which it added a new dimension to the shopping bags that I had made. These baskets are made from chicken wire to highlight the link between captivity and human trafficking. This idea is also illuminated by the tie wraps that act as a shopping tag. Each of the baskets focus on a unique country that is guilty of enslaving people to produce American branded products. In this way, people are wired into the basket in which they are seemingly in a cell. Meanwhile, the baskets hold their own origami objects with facts of several unscrupulous American brands.
